Oxford County manages a leading Waste Management program, consistently reaching top rankings for waste diversion in its class among Ontario municipalities. We collect garbage and recycling from roughly 26,000 households across its six participating municipalities co-collected in the same truck.

Online bag tag purchases

The Oxford County Administration Building will be closed from December 24, 2020, to January 2, 2021. Any bag tag purchases made online during this time will not be processed until offices reopen. A list of local retailers is available at www.wasteline.ca/bagtags
 

Tavistock leaf and yard waste depot reopens

After undergoing improvements, Tavistock leaf and yard waste depot on Hendershot Street reopened Monday, Dec. 6. The project included a new concrete pad and blocks, soil remediation and grading. Yard paving and landscaping will be completed in spring 2022 when the weather warms up. The temporary depot at the East Zorra-Tavistock public works yard on William Street is now closed. 
 

Online purchasing for bag tags

Oxford County bag tags are now available for purchase at www.wasteline.ca/bagtags. Bag tags are available in sheets of 10 for $20, with an option to purchase between one and five sheets at a time. Payment is by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Read more
 

Oxford County launches pilot program for plastic film recycling

Oxford County is offering a new pilot program to recycle plastic film products not accepted in the curbside Blue Box Program. Effective immediately, residents can now recycle plastic bags, over-wrap and other plastic film products in three convenient locations. More. 
 

Styrofoam recycling pilot program begins at Waste Management Facility

The Oxford County Waste Management Facility in Salford is now accepting bulky, rigid, white Styrofoam for recycling. Styrofoam, also known as expanded polystyrene (EPS), is commonly used as protective packaging for electronics toys and appliances. Learn more

Tire recycling program

The life of a tire doesn’t stop at the end of the road. Drop off your old and unwanted tires at the Waste Management Facility in Salford, where they can be recycled, free of charge, into useful items, like roofing shingles, or playground equipment. We accept passenger and light truck tires, on or off the rim, with a maximum of 20 tires per person per day. Dirty or contaminated tires may be subject to tipping fees, or the load rejected entirely. Learn more
