The County of Oxford undertook a Schedule B Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) project to determine the preferred means of upgrading the Carnegie Street Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) to meet peak flows.

The County of Oxford undertook a Schedule B Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) project to determine the preferred means of upgrading the Carnegie Street Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) to meet peak flows. The SPS is located in Ingersoll and receives wastewater from a 25-hectare catchment area in northeast Ingersoll. Currently the station is undersized and does not have permanent standby power on-site. During power outages and/or peak flow events (i.e. rainstorms), the station can be overwhelmed and occasional overflows to the adjacent Henderson Creek or collection system backups can occur.
