Adopt a road

Oxford County’s Adopt a Road program allows individuals to look after a section of roadway to keep it clean of litter. In exchange, Oxford County will provide a sign that will include text or a logo indicating the person or group/organization that is looking after the section of road.

Interested applicants need to contact the Oxford County roads department about the section of roadway they are interested in taking care of.

The application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure there are no safety issues for the participants of the Adopt a Road program.

Once, approved, the applicant will be asked to enter into an agreement with the County. If they agree with the conditions, they can sign the agreement and return it for final approval.

When the application has been approved, the applicant will be put in touch with a roads foreman to have the sign prepared.

Interested applicants should download and carefully read the information package that contains safety guidelines, the litter pick-up program agreement and other key information.
